This year, thousands of students from around the world came together and redefined the world we live in, how we learn, and how we move forward. We are honored to be part of the experience and eager to celebrate this milestone.
So on June 11 we celebrate the Class of 2022 and welcome them to a global community of innovative thinkers and impactful builders. These graduates shined a light on what is possible, no matter the circumstances or challenges they faced in the last year. We saw project after project showcasing not only their skills, but also their passion and perseverance. This class is unstoppable!
What can you look forward to?
GitHub Graduation (2020 and 2021) is one of our favorite events. It’s the culmination of hard work and determination. The ceremony brings together the next generation of leaders from around the world. It is a day to celebrate our craft, our community, and how technology moves the world forward.
Among the festivities, the commencement ceremony will be a chance for some of our Campus Experts from around the world to share their favorite projects, moments, advice for the future, and more.
Graduating in 2022?
How can you join the celebration? Submit a pull request before May 27 to join the event and “walk the stage.” The first 7,500 pull requests merged will receive a custom holographic card with their GitHub stats mailed to them. What goes well with a holographic card? A yearbook! By merging your Markdown file into the graduation repository, you’ll leave your mark in the 2022 yearbook (see the 2021 yearbook).
Graduation stories
We also want to hear about the amazing things you achieved on GitHub during your academic year. Take a moment to record a video, or write a message, and share your story with us, your teachers, and your classmates.
Learn more about how to participate and submit your story by May 30.
Graduation 2022 is also happening in person
Yes, that’s what you just read! This year, we’re having GitHub Graduation events around the world, in specific cities. Keep an eye on our GitHub Education Twitter page to see which cities will be hosting events.
We can’t wait to commemorate this milestone with you!
