We’re happy to announce a Patchwork hack night at GitHub’s new Boulder office.
No coding experience required!
Patchwork is a hands-on workshop for learning Git and GitHub. We’d love for you to join us. There will be snacks for fortified hackin’, lots to learn, and new friends to be made.
Forks you don’t eat with? Branches not made of wood?
Newcomers to Git and GitHub, you’ll leave with a merged pull request, a square on your contributions graph, and confidence to get more involved in the open source community.
Mentors, if you’ve ever had a pull request merged, come help others feel that warm glow of accomplishment!
Learning is better together
Myself, @jdmaturen, @derekgr, @kateguarente, @technoweenie (our speaker), @nathansobo (creator of Atom.io), other GitHub staff, and community mentors will be on hand to answer your questions and help you achieve your first merged pull request.
Details:
- For: Git and GitHub beginners.
- When? Thursday, August 14th from 6:00-9:00pm.
- Where? GitHub’s Boulder office, 1300 Walnut St., Suite 101, Boulder, CO 80302
- RSVP:
Once registered, you’ll receive an email a few days before the event with details on what to have installed on your computer so you can hit the ground running.
