We’re always keeping an ear to the ground about GitHub and one of things that comes up a fair amount is improving our feature visibility. In other words, we offer a ton of great stuff, but many don’t know about it.
Step one was adding Broadcasts to your dashboard when we launch large features. This is great for telling people about new things as they happen, but what about users that join after the announcement?
Step two to solve this problem is by launching GitHub Tips. It’s a short message that’ll appear at random intervals on your dashboard with GitHub and Git tips; stuff we really think you should know about. Check it out:
As we compile a list of more and more tips there’s a good chance we’ll reduce the interval they appear, so if you have any you think others shouldn’t be living without, let us know!
