Model picker highlighting the availability of the Claude Sonnet 4 and Claude Opus 4 models

Anthropic’s latest models, Claude Sonnet 4 and Claude Opus 4, are now generally available in GitHub Copilot. Claude Opus 4 is Anthropic’s most powerful model yet, excelling at complex problem solving and powering frontier AI agents. Claude Sonnet 4 is the successor to the developer-loved Claude Sonnet 3.7. It’s ideal for coding workflows, with a good balance across performance and practicality. Both models are hybrid thinking models, capable of extended thinking with tool use and logical summaries. Both models support the vision capability, so you can chat about images. Just remember that vision support is still in public preview.
