Estamos muy entusiasmados en anunciar nuestro siguiente evento virtual en América Latina: GitHub ¡Presente! en Español
El primer evento será el Martes 22 de Septiembre a las 16:00, hora de México (UTC-5).
El evento será presentado y dirigido por Alexandra Bourne Gerente de Proyectos y Jaime Sanchez, Ingeniero de Soporte de Empresas en GitHub y miembros de los Octogatos en GitHub. Los Octogatos son el grupo para recursos de empleados de GitHub con raíces de Latinoamérica. Junto a ellos estarán miembros del equipo de Ingeniería de Software.
También tendremos 5 invitados especiales.
- Froilán Irizarry Rivera (Twitter: @froidotdev): Nos hablará acerca de GitHub Actions y cómo podemos automatizar procesos utilizando Actions en repositorios y otras áreas de GitHub.
- Agustin Gianni (Twitter: @agustingianni): Nos introducirá a CodeQL y cómo usarlo para encontrar problemas de seguridad en software open source.
- Miguel Ángel Durán García (Twitter: @midudev): Tendrá una presentación enfocada a desarrollar usando GitHub Codespaces desde cualquier máquina incluyendo el uso de Visual Studio Code en tu tablet.
- Valeria Viva (Twitter: @valeriaviva): Presentará una charla hablando de Inteligencia Artificial y como amplifica nuestros sesgos (raciales, de género, entre otros). ¿Qué podemos hacer para contribuir a un mundo más igualitario?
- Rafael Lagunas Guitrón (Instagram: Instagram: @rafalagunas.js) Hablando acerca de cómo podemos desarrollar para solucionar problemas socioculturales y económicos no resueltos. Y cómo esta actividad nos puede ayudar a desenvolvernos profesionalmente.
Al final del evento, quédate con nosotros ya que tendremos tiempo dedicado a socializar y networking, donde podrás hablar directamente con empleados de GitHub y otras personas con intereses comunes.

This event will take place on Tuesday September 22nd at 16:00 UTC-5 Mexico City time, and will be hosted by Alexandra Bourne, Technical Project Manager, and Jaime Sanchez, Enterprise Support Engineer. Both leaders of the Octogatos Employee Resource Group (ERG). The Octogatos is the GitHub ERG for employees who identify as Latinx. Furthermore, they will be joined by GitHub teammates across Engineering and Product teams.
Special guests include:
- Froilán Irizarry Rivera (Twitter: @froidotdev): Discussing GitHub Actions and how we automate processes utilizing Actions in our repositories and other places around GitHub.
- Agustin Gianni (Twitter: @agustingianni): Sharing an introduction into CodeQL and how to use it to find security issues in open source code.
- Miguel Ángel Durán García (Twitter: @midudev): Providing a deep-dive into GitHub Codespaces and how users can leverage it to work on-the-go on any device, even from your tablet while using Visual Studio Code!
- Valeria Viva (Twitter: @valeriaviva): Presenting on artificial intelligence and how it can amplify our biases (racial, gender and others).
- Rafael Lagunas Guitrón: Talking about how we can use software development to help solve societal and economic problems yet to be resolved; and how this activity can help our professional development.
After the event, we will dedicate some time for chatting and networking with GitHub team members and other folks in attendance.
