File CRUD and repository statistics now available in the API

Today we’re happy to announce two big additions to our API:
File CRUD
and Repository Statistics.

File CRUD

The repository contents API has allowed reading files
for a while. Now you can easily commit changes to single files, just like you can in the web UI.

Starting today, these methods are available to you:

• File Create
• File Update
• File Delete

Repository Statistics

We’re using the repository statistics API to power our graphs,
but we can’t wait to see what others do with this information.

Starting today, these resources are available to you:

• Contributors
• Commit Activity
• Code Frequency
• Participation
• Punch Card
