Last week, we were proud to introduce our new Code Search and improved repository and user search.

Today, when you perform a search that has more than one page of results, you can sort those results to help you find just what you’re looking for.

We’ll still sort by “best match” by default, but you have a choice from there:

  • If you’re searching through repositories, you can sort by stars, forks, or recently-updated
  • If you’re searching through users, you can sort by number of followers, number of repositories, or when they joined GitHub
  • If you’re searching through code, you can also sort by when the code was last indexed

Searching through five million projects just got a little easier. Happy searching!
