Today is Nathan Sobo’s first day as a GitHubber. An experienced polyglot, Nathan will be joining our R&D department to work on GitHub’s experimental “hubot teleport me” technology.

Nathan was the original force behind Treetop, a Ruby-based parsing DSL based on parsing expression grammars. With over 4 million downloads, if you’re a Ruby developer there’s a good chance you’ve used Treetop directly or indirectly.

Check out Nathan’s Treetop talk from Rubyconf 2007 to learn more about packrat parsing and Treetop or his GitHub profile to find more super interesting code.

Welcome to the team, Nathan!
